Join Lake Erie Paddler and the City of Lorain for the Black River Kayak-a-thon 2013 and have a chance to win one of two (2) NSP Elements 10’2″ Paddle Boards that will be raffled as the grand prizes for the event.
All you have to do to be eligible to win is to participate in the Black River Kayak-a-thon 2013 Race or Casual Float division. A participant in each division will be eligible to win a one (1) NSP Elements 10’2″ Paddle Board with a Surftech Leash and Paddle donated by Lake Erie Paddler and the City of Lorain.
There are two divisions with Registration taking place onsite at the French Creek Launch Pad on the day of the event:
- Race Division – $25 fee
- Casual Float – $5
The Race Division will give you a chance to display your kayak or SUP paddling skills with the top three finishers in each division to receive a Paddle Trophy and be eligible for additional prizes.
The casual float division replicates a typical Black River Paddle Board Excursion offered by Lake Erie Paddler. The weather forecast is for a sunny 70 degree day so it should be a perfect day for paddling. Lake Erie Paddler will be renting paddle boards for this event. The Race Divisions are:
Long Race (11.8 Miles)
- 9:30 AM – K-1-SEK – Boat Length – (14’6” Minimum)
Short Races (4.6 Miles)
- 10:30 AM – K-1-SR1 –Boat Length – (14’6” Minimum)
- 11:15 AM – K-1-SR2 –Boat Length – (11’6” – 14’6”)
- 12:00 AM – K-1-SR3 –Boat Length – (Less than 11’6”)
- 12:45 AM – K-1-SR3 –Boat Length – (Less than 11’6”)
- 1:00 PM – Casual Float (4.6 Miles)
