Vermilion, Ohio is a nice lake front resort town between Lorain and Sandusky.

Vermilion is dissected by the Vermilion River and has a number of river and beach locations to launch a paddle board from.

The Vermilion public boat launch is on the Vermilion River and managed by the Vermilion Port Authority.  For a nominal fee you can launch your paddle board from the public boat launch and paddle board down the Vermilion River out to Lake Erie.  There is plenty of parking near the launch point to make easy to transport your paddle board to the launch point.

The Vermilion River is a bit narrow with lots of boat traffic so you need to exercise extreme caution when paddle boarding in Vermilion.

You will pass some interesting waterfront dining restaurants like Chez Francois and Quaker Steak and Lube.

You can paddle out the Vermilion River and go left or West out on to Lake Erie and maybe catch some waves at the Main Street Beach.

You can paddle out the Vermilion River and go Right or East along the shoreline of the Vermilion Lagoons and Linwood Park towards Lorain, Ohio.

Vermilion is known for the annual Fish Festival and Wooly Bear Festival which attracts visitors from all over Ohio to the shores of Vermilion to enjoy the sighteeing and shops in the quaint downtown area.
